FEEL THE CITY

If you follow the museum route to see our city, you will soon discover Gdańsk's beauty and history.

A visit to that Museum of the History of the City of Gdańsk (Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Gdańska) which is situated in the Town Hall, will show the great past of this town. The Central Maritime Museum (Centralne Muzeum Morskie) presents the role of the sea in the life of the city and the exhibition Roads to Freedom (Drogi do Wolności) teaches you about the modern history of Gdańsk.

Most of the museums in Gdańsk require visitors to pay an entrance fee. Many museums are closed on Mondays

In 2006, the Museum of Amber (Muzeum Bursztynu) was opened. Here visitors can admire spectacular pieces of amber work made by both old and modern Gdańsk masters and learn a great deal about the fascinating properties of amber.
