Among the most famous and biggest are the International Festival of Organ Music (MiÄ™dzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Organowej), FETA International Festival of Open Air and Street Theatre (MiÄ™dzynarodowy Festiwal Teatrów Plenerowych i Ulicznych FETA), Carillon Festival (GdaÅ„ski Festiwal Carillonowy), GdaÅ„sk Dance Corporation Festival (Festiwal GdaÅ„ska Korporacja TaÅ„ca), Jazz Jantar Festival (Festiwal Jazz Jantar), Yach Film Polish Videoclip Festival and Videoclip Festival of the Scandinavian and Baltic States (Festiwal Polskich Wideoklipów Yach Film i Festiwal Wideoklipów Krajów Skandynawskich i NadbaÅ‚tyckich) and the Shakespearean Festival (Festiwal Szekspirowski).

The Shakespearean Festival takes place at the beginning of August. It is a big cultural event and a delight for all theatre lovers. The tradition of Shakespearean productions being played in Gdańsk goes back as far as the 17th century.

The Gdańsk Concert Hall is beautifully situated on an island on the river Motława from where there is a breathtaking panoramic view of the Old Town.

Both visitors to and citizens of Gdańsk can enjoy a great variety of cultural events throughout the year. There is a well-established theatre here (Teatr Wybrzeże), an opera house as well as many art galleries and music clubs.
