During the summer, restaurants and pubs set up tables outside in small gardens or just on the pavements. It is easy to find a good place to eat and rest. In winter, when the weather is much colder, Gdańsk music clubs and pubs attract lots of people who want to listen to live music.

There is a tradition of spending free time with friends and family, so afternoon or weekend walks along our beautiful sandy beaches are very popular. However, many Poles, especially young people, choose restaurants or pubs where they spend their free time.

Fish restaurants are popular places to eat in Gdańsk. Most of them serve different kinds of fish as well as traditional Polish food.

Water is ever-present in the life of the city. You are always close to a canal, the beach or a stream. Walking along the wide sandy beaches is a very popular activity, enjoyed by everybody, and regardless of the weather. At weekends, seafish restaurants become informal social meeting places.
