Bad Radkersburg (Austria) & Gornja Radgona (Slovenia)

Feel the cities

In the 12th century, Radgona Castle was built by the Slovenian nobleman Radigoij on a hill overlooking Bad Radkersburg and Gornja Radgona. The castle received its present shape when it was taken over by Count Leopold Herberstein in the year 1776. The castle had numerous owners and was sold to the ban administration in 1931. During World War II the castle served as an elementary school. Currently, the castle is privately owned.
