The Styrian “Kernöl” or “bu─Źno olje“ is an important export product of the Austrian and Slovenian parts of Styria. It is made by pressing roasted, hulled pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin seed oil serves as a salad dressing when combined with cider vinegar, but it can also be used with deserts to give them a nutty flavor.
The Styrian pumpkin seeds are also well known to prevent bladder and prostate problems, and eliminate intestinal parasites.
