Miercurea Ciuc (Romania)

FEEL THE CITY

The so-called Millenium church, built in 2003, stands as proof that still plays an important role in this region. It is the work of a Hungarian architect, Imre Makovecz, one of the most prominent proponents of organic architecture. Influenced by traditional Hungarian folkart as well as the natural world of the Carpathian basin, his work can also be considered a critique of the brutal uniformity of communist architecture.
